A boyish grin sweeps across Ron Bakir’s face.
“People still call me crazy—they might have a bit of a point,” he says. “I’ve calmed down a bit. I’m not as crazy as I used to be but I’ve still got some crazy tendencies.”
As a 17-year-old, straight out of school, Bakir caught a McCafferty’s bus from Sydney to Queensland’s Glitter Strip and—despite what he calls a few “speed bumps” —has never looked back.
